The Octopus 120 series and 200 series greyscale
printers* produce high quality continuous images onto thermal
paper or film and are ideal for hardcopy output of geophysical
data (sidescan and seismic) and other continuous data.
With a wide range of interface options including parallel (centronics),
compatible with most PC-based acquisition systems, plus three
channel analogue with full independent triggers, the Octopus 120
and 200 series greyscale printers are easily interfaced with commonly
used data sources. Uniquely, the three channel capability, with
fully independent channel settings allows simultaneous displayof
data
such as seismic andsidescan. Both models offer 200 dpi print resolution
at up to 256 grey levels, with 2368 pixel print width (120 series)
and 4096 pixel print width (200 series) enabling data to be printed
at very high resolutions. With 20% greater print width than many
other similar models, the Octopus 120 is able to print three channels
without compromising resolution.
Thermal Media
Thermal media supplied by CodaOctopus is extensively tested for
print quality and is the only type we recommend not only to guarantee
the best results but to avoid print head fouling problems.
Low cost paper from other sources has been found to produce poor
print quality and grainy results with the possibility of fouling
the print head within less than one roll. Statistics show that
when the head is harder to clean, the likelihood of damage is
significantly increased, especially when cleaning is carried out
by less experienced operators.
